In 2019-2020, CASC made its next step in assessment maturity from course level activity to program level. Appropriately, programs identify their learning outcomes – derived from their goals or mission statements – along with performance indicators which define the specific areas for outcome achievements. The added tool of a curriculum map is used as a visual representation of where, i.e., in which courses, skill development of the outcome and indicators can be accomplished. Although the direct measure of assessment may remain as course-embedded, the curriculum map is vital in illustrating formative and summative data collection points at the course level.
